  Most swing arm curtain rod installations require just two rods.  Each swing arm rod set includes 2 rods, 2 finials, 2 brackets and mounting hardware.  Rings are ordered separately, and are available with eyelets or pinch clips.   If you have your own finials, adjustable rod kits can be ordered just by themselves.  Adjustable rod is 1/2" x 5/8"dia.  Price list below...

Installation instructions for adjustable swing arm rod sets...

Step 1 : Determine where bracket will be mounted.  If installing rod outside of window/door casing ( fig. 1), check to make sure casing does not interfere with swing arm rod when installed.  If installing bracket onto woodwork, it is recommended that your pre-drill holes with a 3/32" drill bit before installing screws to avoid splitting the wood.   Step 2 : Hold bracket at location desired on wall and mark approximate center of upper and lower slots on bracket.  If attaching to woodwork, skip this section.  If you are going into drywall or plaster, wall anchors may be required.  Bracket screws, supplied, are long enough to attach to a wall stud through the drywall.   Check for stud by installing a bracket screw into one of the marked holes first.  If the screw hits a wall stud, back screw out and proceed.  If screw does not hit a wall stud, wall anchors will need to be installed.  Use a good wall anchor, molly-bolts and picture anchors are not acceptable.  Once wall anchors are installed for all holes, proceed to next section.   Step 3 : While holding the brackets and tightening the screws make sure the rod is level.  Once poles are level, remove poles from bracket and secure pole length by tightening set screw on reverse side of pole.  Install finials to rods and secure.   Step 4 : When  using a tab top treatment, simply slide tabs over end of rod and adjust to fit rod width.  If using a curtain panel with a rod pocket, remove finials and slide panel onto rod.  Reinstall finial.  If using rings with pinch pleated panel slide rings over rod and reinstall finials, you will need a ring for each pleat and a ring for each side of panel.   Hints:  Use the shortest finials, so that it will reduce overlap issues.  Bracket mounts the rod very close to the wall, can be mounted on the trim for more clearance.  We do recommend use of the compensator screw that is included with the mounting hardware, which will allow the weight of the swing curtain rod to rest on the screw head and keep the bracket from indenting the sheet rock.
